Overview

As purpose built child care centres, Huggy Bear has individual indoor and outdoor play areas suiting each level of children’s development. Our professional carers provide tailored development programs and an individual level of care for children within their own age group.

Huggy Bear rooms are for:

• Nursery - 6 weeks to 2 years
• Pre-Kindy - 2 years to 3 years
• Kindy - 3 years to 5 years

Huggy Bear offers a limited number of before and after school places for older siblings of enrolled children. A free bus service to and from most local schools is provided for children from Kindergarten to Primary school.

We have a flexible approach to learning and child development at Huggy Bear and as such children may be offered a transition into the next room for their age group should development needs be appropriate and naturally with parental consent.

Programs

At Huggy Bear we know learning should be fun and that success encourages further success. By using a range of different activities from play, singing, art, craft and dancing we use each child’s strengths as a platform for new activities. Our culture fosters positive attitudes to learning which allows for new activities and concepts to be conceived and developed.

Our Qualified room leaders create programs suited to the current development stage of each child under their care. Programs are reviewed and updated weekly with a similar methodology used by each of the three age groups. Huggy Bear’s Centre Directors offer a wealth of child care experience, skills and knowledge which is used with the regular review and development of programs with each of the room leaders.

Programs are displayed for families in their child’s room and we welcome and encourage parents input into the program.

Children in the Kindy Room have a School Readiness program incorporated into their routine which aids in the development of literacy, language, problem solving, mathematical thinking and social interaction.
