Programs
At Huggy Bear we know learning should be fun and that success encourages further success. By using a range of different activities from play, singing, art, craft and dancing we use each child’s strengths as a platform for new activities. Our culture fosters positive attitudes to learning which allows for new activities and concepts to be conceived and developed.
Our Qualified room leaders create programs suited to the current development stage of each child under their care. Programs are reviewed and updated weekly with a similar methodology used by each of the three age groups.
Huggy Bear’s Centre Directors offer a wealth of child care experience, skills and knowledge which is used with the regular review and development of programs with each of the room leaders.
Programs are displayed for families in their child’s room and we welcome and encourage parents input into the program.
Huggy Bear rooms are for:
Nursery - 6 weeks to 2 years
Pre-Kindy - 2 years to 3 years
Kindy - 3 years to 5 years
Huggy Bear offers a limited number of before and after school places for older siblings of enrolled children. A free bus service to and from most local schools is provided for children from Kindergarten to Primary school.
For Babies
Each Huggy Bear centre has a dedicated area for babies aged 0-2 years. There is also a separate sleep nursery and outdoor play area for this younger age group. Separate areas enable age appropriate activities and encourage restful sleep times.
For families who haven’t used an early learning centre environment before, our educators and carers understand that this introduction can be an emotional choice and a there to support you and your child through each step. We communicate daily with families to help maintain your home routines and enable the settling in process to be as smooth, comfortable and happy as possible for your child.
Families often comment how pleased they are that Huggy Bear can offer such a diverse range of art, craft, play and learning activities for such young ones. Time spent at Huggy Bear is a great enhancement to any child’s growing and development experiences.
For Toddlers
Each Huggy Bear Centre has a dedicated area for toddlers aged 2-3 years. They are also encouraged to rest/sleep after lunchtimes. They also enjoy a separate outdoor play area than the older children. Separate areas enable age appropriate activities and encourage restful sleep times.

For Kindy
Each Huggy Bear centre has a dedicated area for kindy children aged 3-5 years. Children in the Kindy Room have a School Readiness program incorporated into their routine which aids in the development of literacy, language, problem solving, mathematical thinking and social interaction.
At this age children really open up to developing social skills, making friends, and their thirst for knowledge increases daily. They learn about sharing, imaginative play, group activity, quiet time plus much more. The diverse range of art, craft, play and learning activities are really extended in Kindy room.
Our educators and carers are always attentive and help foster good habits such as toileting and handwashing. As children progress to school kindy, Huggy Bear can offer drop off and pick up services to local primary schools. Speak to your Huggy Bear Centre for more information.
